Welcome to Accepting Jane!
Accepting Jane was born out of a desire to rebirth my creativity and show you the world through my rather unusual perspective.
I live to find the extraordinary in the ordinary.
I love ordinary moments…a walk at the park with my dogs, chatting in the kitchen with my young adults, having a laugh with my husband, or just appreciating the natural world or a clean carpet. When you find yourself living in a state of appreciation for the ordinary, you find yourself living a life where adventure is around every corner, the smallest detail leaves a smile on your face because you take the time to see it, and joy is a consistent companion.
Above all else, recognizing the extraordinary in the ordinary is a reminder to myself to spend as much time as I can in a state of gratitude.
Part journal, part Aesop’s fable, part whatever I want it to be, I thank you for taking the time to read my stories. I hope they leave you with a smile, a reminder of wisdom you already know, or best of all wakes you up to see the extraordinary in your ordinary.
Accepting Jane will not be a curated blog. You will find rough photos, the odd spelling mistake (I do try hard though!), and environments lacking in design features. You may get the odd blurry photo when I am more concerned about the subject to tell the story than clarity. My goal is not to provide you with another life that leaves you wanting. My ultimate goal is to make you want your own life right now at this moment with all its blemishes, hairballs, and cellulite.
Jane is a 40-something-year-old living life with her husband, three young adults, 3 dogs, 2 lovebirds, and 2 guinea pigs in beautiful British Columbia, Canada. This is all she is going to say because she dislikes labels and is getting irritated with writing about herself in the third person.
In a world where attention and time are of high value, I want to thank you for the gift of your time.
